Hubway is Metro-Boston’s self-service bike share system. As of 2015, Motivate operates approximately 1300 bikes at over 140 stations in the Hubway region, including Boston, Brookline, Cambridge, and Somerville. Hubway is a convenient, sustainable, healthy, community-based transport option that enhances urban livability and mobility, and is accessible to residents, students, and visitors alike.
Overview of Position:
Motivate is seeking qualified individuals to help with all aspects of bicycle redistribution throughout the Boston-metro area. The Hubway Rebalancing Team drives company vehicles and maintains optimal numbers of available bikes and docks for our members.
Key Aspects of Position:
Work alone or with other Street Team members under the guidance of the Dispatch Manager.
Drive a large van or SUV to redistribute bikes as required, based on real-time demand data.
Address and log bike status, system events and rebalancing data as instructed.
Evaluate bike condition and escalates issues, as needed.
Inspect bike stations for safety, operability and cleanliness.
Troubleshoot stations and ensure station operability.
Escalate bike or station issues to the Dispatch Manager.
Assist with bike and bike station deployment and re-deployment.
Work with Field Station Technicians and Field Bicycle Technicians to ensure timely and productive workflows.
Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to:
Clean rental station sites from debris.
Provide bicycle valet support at certain station locations.
Availability on an On-Call basis Only. Scheduling lead times will vary.
Saturday – Sunday 6am – 2pm: High priority
Monday – Friday 6am -2 pm
Monday – Friday 2:05pm – 10:05pm
Saturday – Sunday 2:05pm – 10:05pm

Required Skills and Experience:
Valid driver license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
Experience driving a large van in city traffic.
Knowledge of Boston area geography and street layout.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to bend, stoop, and lift up to 45 pounds.
Ability to work various shifts as assigned, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Previous delivery driving, mechanical and/or logistics experience.
